Det, MI -- Cleveland pitcher Bartolo Colon didn't exactly flirt with history at Comerica Park, giving up a single in the first inning, but what he did after that made his outing the most dominate of the season thus far, and maybe won't be topped.
Colon (1-1, 4.26 ERA) pitched a two hit shutout at Comerica Park where the Indian's destroyed the Detroit Tigers 10-0, racking up 13 hits in support of their starter. Colon struck out six batters, and simply toyed with the Tiger's lineup, inducing groundball out after groundball out.
Detroit catcher Brandon Inge, in a strange display of affection for the other team, talked about how great Colon pitched. "WOW!" Brandon said, "He was lights out, I'm glad he got hit early, to lose like a perfect game in the ninth with two outs would be...devastating, especially if it were like a blown call by the first base umpire, I mean, I hope I never have to see anything like that in my career."
